Airdrie Fire & Safety Supplies was established in 2012 to assist businesses with their portable fire extinguisher needs. From annual inspections to sales and service we can help your business with its fire safety needs.

Yes. All commercial businesses in Alberta are legally required to have all fire safety systems inspected at least annually in accordance with NFPA and the Alberta Fire Code.
As outlined by the NFPA and the Alberta Fire Code, all portable fire extinguishers must be inspected and certified annually by a certified technician who is employed by a certified service shop. We provide a followup call each year at the appropriate time to remind you that your fire extinguishers need to be inspected and re-certified.
The specific maintenance required is based on the year the extinguisher was manufactured. All portable fire extinguishers must be serviced according to NFPA standard and the Alberta Fire Code. Most portable fire extinguishers require servicing every 5 or 6 years as well as annual certification. New fire extinguishers must have a valid certification tag when used in a commercial setting.
